Bush is trying to pass a new Intellegence bill

George Bush has apparently been pushing a FISA amendment that would allow our government to spy on foreigners without a warrant. There are two versions of the bill being looked at at the moment, but the senate version is possible the most troubling. It has a measure within, that would grant retroactive immunity to all telecommunication companies that cooperated with the government all the way back to 2005. Ralph Nader announces candidacy

In a surprise announcement today, Ralph Nader declared that he would be entering the presidential races. Citing dissension among democrats and republicans as the reason for his decision. HBO picks up “Taxi to the Dark Side” after Discovery decides against it

HBO recently announced that they would be airing the thought provoking documentary "Taxi to the Dark Side". Discovery chose to cancel their previously announced airing of the movie, which would have appeared sometime before the 2008 elections. After their announcement, HBO moved in and struck a deal to air the documentary in September, shortly before the November elections. The Federal Government is planning on requiring all U.S. Citizens to carry a national I.D. Card, despite the opposition of many state leaders.
